An Earth Day 2021 Partnership Announcement

It’s Earth Day 2021 and what a great day for GreenFeet to announce a new and innovative partnership with Self Help Africa. With both organizations placing the climate change issue at the forefront of their operations, it’s a natural union of great minds, carbon reduction ambitions and climate change goals.
GreenFeet’s mission is to help reduce the world’s carbon footprint by helping businesses to quickly and easily calculate and reduce theirs. It provides easy-to-use software for companies of all sizes, to effortlessly manage and ultimately reduce their carbon emissions.
Companies, big and small, are now taking steps to tackle the climate change issue before it’s too late. GreenFeet’s software platform enables companies of any size to make an impact. Companies work with GreenFeet to calculate and reduce their carbon footprint, create a sustainability program for the workplace and meet sustainability goals.
In 2020, the non profit organization, Self Help Africa launched their ‘One Million Trees’ project with a goal of planting 1,000,000 trees in sub-Saharan Africa. By February 2021, this ambition had been achieved with one million new trees planted by Self Help Africa in Malawi, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya and Burkina Faso. They’ve now set a goal to plant an additional one million trees in 2021.
The initiative is multifaceted. Primarily an organization that fosters development and entrepreneurship in Africa, with it’s One Million Trees campaign, Self Help Africa wanted to provide families with an additional source of food, income, shade and shelter.
However there’s an added, vital climate-change benefit in that tree planting protects the soil and removes carbon from the air helping to reduce the harmful greenhouse gases that threaten our shared planet. Self Help Africa decided to harness the carbon removal aspect of this major project by engaging with companies and businesses across the world, allowing them to offset their carbon footprint through this initiative.
GreenFeet and Self Help Africa are today announcing an exciting partnership to further this universal cause. Organizations can now support Self Help Africa’s ‘One Million Trees’ project through the GreenFeet platform and can track how this has helped to offset their overall corporate emissions. GreenFeet helps companies to easily measure and reduce their carbon footprint; Self Help Africa will now play a vital role in this process by providing an additional carbon offsetting opportunity for GreenFeet customers.
At GreenFeet we are particularly excited to work with Self Help Africa as they take on one of the most important aspects of dealing with the threat of climate change, that is, working along side and supporting some of the world’s poorest communities to provide, tools, and training that will help them increase their productivity and at the same time have a positive impact from a climate action perspective.
Today, Earth Day 2021 is an annual awareness campaign of this common goal to tackle the climate change issue. Over the course of the month of April, one billion participants from all over the world are coming together as part of a global effort to ‘restore our earth’. Information and awareness is key when it comes to reducing the world’s CO2e emissions. When companies like GreenFeet and organizations like Self Help Africa come together, it signifies strength and conviction in a common cause. That’s why we couldn’t think of a more perfect opportunity to share our partnership with the world.
